Diwali Mela at Chai Pani Decatur  

What: Chai Pani’s Diwali mela (festival), showcasing the true culture and cuisine of India, with 50% of proceeds benefitting Atlanta-based charity Go Eat Give.

Why: The evening will celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. Attendees will experience a full spectrum of food, drink and entertainment including Indian street food and specialty cocktails, designer Indian accessories by Belsi Collection, henna tattoos provided by by Indian esthetician, Nargis Karimi, and Bollywood music from Atlanta’s renowned DJ Jaz. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed man and woman courtesy of Ichcha, a family owned business comprised of three sisters dedicated to making handmade products that encourage conscientious living.

When:  Sunday, November 10, from 6:30 to 11 p.m.

Where: Chai Pani Decatur, located at 406 W. Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030

How Much: $50 per ticket, which can be purchased here, and don’t forget that 50% of proceeds will benefit Go Eat Give.

Día de los Muertos

Zocalo will celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with holiday specials from Thursday, October 31, through Sunday, November 3.   Guests can enjoy slow-roasted pork carnitas in decadent red mole sauce with mild guajillo chiles, chile ancho and oregano, served with cilantro rice, charro beans and cheese corn quesadilla for $18.95. Additionally, guests can sip on habanero blood orange margaritas made with tequila reposado, citrus, blood orange and habanero puree, finished with a black mole rim for $9.95.
